To all fellow explorers and road trip lovers—if you’re planning a 4–5 day escape from Hyderabad and want to experience a blend of breathtaking views, heritage sights, and true hospitality, this journey is crafted for you!
Route
Hyderabad → Chikmagalur → Belur → Coorg → Bangalore
Along the way, discovered breathtaking landscapes and rich heritage at these must-visit spots:
- Mullayanagiri Peak
- Jhari Waterfall / Buttermilk Falls
- Belur Chennakeshava Temple
- Omkareshwara Temple
- Raja’s Seat
- ISKCON Temple
Day 1: Arrival in Chikmagalur
Scenic Drive: Winding through dense forests and lush greenery, every mile felt like stepping into a living postcard.


Where We Stayed: The Great Escafe, Chikmagalur
Nestled at 5,100 feet above sea level, this homestay was an absolute delight! Impeccable hospitality, home-cooked food, and coffee straight from their estate made our stay unforgettable.
Recreation included table tennis, carroms, football, and evenings by the campfire under starry skies.
Day 2: Coffee Trails & Peaks





Visited the highest peak in Karnataka, Mullayanagiri Peak (Altitude ~6397 feet). A must-visit for photography and nature lovers!


Jhari falls
- One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Karnataka
- ~12km from our homestay
- After reaching the main road near to waterfalls, private jeeps are available which costs around 100INR per person to reach the waterfalls
- Not recommended for elderly people as it’s a bumpy ride.
- Also called Buttermilk Falls or Dabdabe Falls.
Ended the day by resting up in the homestay with a campfire!
The temperature was as low as 14 degrees.
Day 3: Heritage in Belur
Built in the early 12th century by King Vishnuvardhana (Hoysala dynasty), this temple stands as an architectural gem and a window into Karnataka’s rich history.




Day 4: Spiritual Coorg & Urban Comforts


Built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra, it’s an ancient shrine of Lord Shiva situated in the heart of Madikeri (Coorg’s capital)
Into the City:
Arrived in Bangalore, checking into R G Royal Hotel. Our evening included serene visits to Iskon Temple and Orion Mall—great for a taste of city life before the journey home.
Highly recommend the hotel for its location and hospitality.
Day 5: Journey Home
Set off for Hyderabad, breaking the trip at Kritunga, Kurnool—my go-to spot for an amazing lunch.
Returned home with a camera roll full of memories and inspiration for future adventures!
